Round up at the Register-October 2015
Main Market Co-op is pleased to be able to offer modest donations to a variety of community nonprofit organizations through our "Round Up at the Register" program. Additionally, we commit to extending the opportunity of support to our shoppers and members by allowing them to round their total up to the nearest dollar, donating that excess to the featured community organization while spotlighting the organization in our store for the month.
Here is a little bit of information about our featured organization for October 2015:
Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane
Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane engages everyday people to build a just and nonviolent world through community organizing and leadership development for human rights, economic justice, and peace. This month, we are celebrating 40 years for peace and justice!
Our Young Activist Leaders program supports young activists as leaders of TODAY, sharing tools and strategies to win change!
For 40 years we've led our region's movement grow beyond war and militarism to build peace with human rights globally and locally!
We're strong partners in Smart Justice Spokane, working to win criminal justice reform that ends overuse of jail, achieves racial equity, provides opportunities for recovery, and delivers effective solutions to crime in order to create a just, strong and healthy community.
We've won advances for police accountability in our community by mobilizing everyday people and partner organizations.
Our commitment to equality and human rights fuels our work to end the death penalty, support LGBT equality, advance immigration reform, and organize for economic justice.
