As local members of Main Market, we value your ideas and support. Cooperative groceries operate based on a strong backbone of Mission & Values, the Bylaws and the International Cooperative Principles. 

Part of the Main Market story is about improving access to quality food and grocery in downtown Spokane and the region.  Equal energy is invested in just how we deliver those goods and services.

We seek relationships with other community organizations that assist us in helping the underserved populations that also deserve delicious, healthy food and solid employment.

We respect our business partners on the block and maintain hours and services that help us all succeed together.

We encourage our community to support ways to live that are sustainable, healthy and nourishing to themselves and our larger community.  The Mission & Values of Main Market communicate those goals.

The Main Market Board of Directors is seeking applicants to fill three open positions on the Board of Directors.

All active members who may be interested in applying for the Board of Directors of Main Market Co-Op are encouraged to attend an informational meeting.

This meeting is hosted by the Nominations Committee, a sub committee of the full Board of Directors. The committee is comprised of current Board members and fellow co-op members.

Our By-laws guide the nominations process:

• Any member in good standing is eligible to apply for a position on the nine member Board of Directors
• The term is three years, with the possibility of serving a second three year term
•  Any active member can nominate a candidate for the Board
• Elections will be held at the annual meeting of members in early Spring
• Applications must be received 120 days prior to the annual meeting and will be due by November 15, 2009
